Dance is a component that can help connect fitness, coordination, fun and creativity and many groups benefit from a form of dance without competition being involved but the emphasis is more on connecting and working together.

The well-known neurologist and Parkinson's specialist Dr. Bas Bloem, of the Radboud UMC in Nijmegen, says about this: 'It turns out that dancing has a positive effect on the posture and the entire movement pattern of people with Parkinson's. They become smoother and even their facial expression becomes less rigid.'

But young people also benefit from practicing a form of dance. Just to have fun, but also to work and create together.
